Perspective Mapping Workshop

The workshop spins around a gamified process designed to collaboratively build a world and a corresponding narrative that challenges participants to view their system from alternate perspectives. It invites them to assume the roles of various actors within a system and respond to specific stimuli as those characters. Through this, participants uncover how different actors might perceive the system, identify opportunities, and experience constraints.

The process brings to light otherwise invisible assumptions, tensions, and interdependencies that shape systems. It’s playful yet analytical, opening new forms of dialogue between actors who rarely share a common lens.

When to use

• When your organisation needs to understand a complex system through the eyes of several, even unlikely stakeholders.
• To challenge and break away from habitual approaches to problem solving.
• To design and stress-test new strategy, and to review how different actors might respond to it.
